Norwich Youth, Family, and Recreation is excited to announce they are hosting their first ever Block Party for the City of Norwich on Saturday, September 23rd from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Originally planned to be held outdoors, due to predicted weather, the event has been moved to NFA’s Alumni Gym at 305 Broadway in Norwich. The event will include a video game bus, a 40-foot inflatable obstacle course, live DJ, resources for families, ice cream truck, and so much more. No Ride? No Problem! We will be providing bus transportation to and from the event at three different pick up and drop off locations. The bus will be picking up attendees from Wequonnoc School at 11:30 am, Greenville Playground at 11:45am, and Jenkins Park at 12:00 pm. The outgoing bus will leave the party at 3pm sharp, with drop off at Jenkins Park at 3:10, Greenville Playground at 3:25 pm, and Wequonnoc School at 3:45. Please note, all listed times are approximations. Local teen and NYFR intern Sophia Negron says, “Everyone has been working really hard to make this the best event possible. I am so excited to be a part of it. This is one party you don’t want to miss!” No registration needed for this event, so bring all your friends and family. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 14 on the bus and at the event.
