You are invited to join us at Leffingwell House Museum Sunday, April 2, from 1-3pm for an Afternoon Tea & Presentation. Enjoy our tea buffet and a presentation on 'Women's everyday wardrobes of the mid-19th century' by the Dirty Blue Shirts Historian. $30/pp, reservations. Frances Caulkins described our great grandmothers as "Decently, but not gaudily dressed." How did she get dressed on a 1860s morning? If you were going to pay her a visit, how would you? Join the Dirty Blue Shirts for an informal and in-depth exploration of Victorian women’s wardrobes! Discover the many layers worn by women in the mid 19th century. From cosy wrapper to crinoline cage to feathered bonnet, see how all the layers go on a human body and discuss why they’re there at all. The tea buffet will be in colonial dining style- fingers, spoons and napkins; seating is in either in the 1675 Tavern Room or the West Parlor. $30/pp. Seating is limited, for information, reservations and payment options, please email: info@leffingwellhousemuseum.org For more information about the Leffingwell House Museum visit: https://www.leffingwellhousemuseum.org/
