Freedom First Wildlife Rehab is the newest member to soar into the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce. First founded in 2017, Freedom First rescues owls with the intent to rehabilitate and re-release into the wild. Sometimes this isn't always possible, when an owl with injuries that make them non-releasable comes in, they become an educational ambassador. Ambassador owls take part in a number of events meant to help people learn more about these beautiful birds of prey. In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, Freedom First is also involved in a number of conversation projects to help preserve owl habitats. Their conversation project for 2022-2023 is to get more nesting boxes for owls put up across eastern Connecticut. To be considered, land owners have to have 35 acres or more of cleared land and agree not to use rodenticide on that land. In total nesting boxes have been approved in 16 locations across 12 towns in South eastern Connecticut. Freedom First Wildlife Rehab graciously accepts donations through PayPal, Venmo, or Facebook. They also maintain an active Amazon Smile Wishlist. For more information visit them at: https://freedom-first-wildlife-rehab-inc.business.site/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=referral
