Tamarack Lodge will continue to host dinners and pub nights, weddings, retreats, concerts, festivals, camping, and summer camps. Multiple safari tents have been purchased for guests to enjoy glamping, and the existing cabins are being completely renovated. The main guest house is getting a makeover as well. Ultimately, the Potemris said they see Tamarack as not just a warmer-weather destination but a spot where people come year-round. “There’s a great need for vocational training especially in the trades. We feel very fortunate to provide opportunities to students and continue the great tradition that is Tamarack Lodge. The history of Tamarack reflects the epitome of hard work and industrial technology and we are happy to be part of such a great town that supports this vision.” Accommodations are available for large and small weddings and private events indoors and outdoors, as well as throughout all four seasons. About Tamarack Lodge & Glamping Resort Once hosting a secret party for the cast of The Sopranos to avoid Paparazzi, Tamarack Lodge is a hidden gem dating back to the 1700’s. The 28 acres of land have been home to various businesses including a blacksmith shop, a water-powered wagon wheel mill, a tree farm and then a popular vacation resort in the 1940’s. Industrial gears are still visible in the main buildings’ ceilings and what were once large chicken coops turned into cabins. The resort attracted vacationers from New York and Boston looking for a retreat from the city hussle and bussle. The ancestry of the original owners Carl and Ellen Anderson date back to Sweden and Finland which influenced Scandinavian culture at the resort from music, dance and food. As the resort grew more popular, an inground pool and a sauna were added to the property in the 1960’s. This rustic estate offers unique opportunities for weddings and events that range from intimate 20-person ceremonies to 200-person receptions under a tent or weekend-long wedding soirees with fire pits. The property can accommodate groups and events outdoors up to 2,000 people. Perfect for private events, corporate outings, creative or spiritual retreats and concerts, the vintage cabins, guest house, and grounds for trailers and tents provide Glamping getaways from the hustle and bustle with lots of local activities to enjoy, Tamarack Lodge is located at 21 Ten Rod Road in Voluntown, Connecticut.
