February 8, 2022 For immediate release. Norwich, CT – Nancy A. Thomas of Oakdale was recently elected to join the Norwich Arts Center’s Board of Directors for a 2-year term during a recent meeting. Nancy works as an MIS/Finance Director for Atlantic Broadband, formerly Thames Valley Communications. She has worked in financial operations for over 35 years. Nancy previously taught Accounting at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Connecticut State University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is a long-time community volunteer including for the Montville Board of Education, Montville Education Association, the Cable Advisory Council, Montville Rotary and many more. She has been active in fundraising, finance and strategic planning for various non-profit organizations. She enjoys the arts community and is a devoted quilter and designer of costumes. Nancy is the mother of two and grandmother of eight. The Norwich Arts Center was formed originally as the Norwich Arts Council in 1987 by a group of local artists and art-lovers who were inspired by the region’s cultural possibilities. Since its inception, the dedicated board members, artists and volunteers of NAC have worked to provide affordable arts programming that is both a reflection of the area’s rich diversity and a platform for deeper arts appreciation.
