Oct.2, Celebrate the the 362nd anniversary of the Founding of Norwich at the Leffingwell House Museum. Learn about the founding of Norwich from President Dayne Rugh. Listen as the Bells of Norwich ring for each of the 35 Founding families with City and State Proclamations read at noon. Meet the Kingston Reds, see what the life of a colonial soldier was like! Watch talented candle maker Bob as you listen to the music of the bowed Saltery played by Melodye. Visit with Domine Benjamin Vanderlinde the traveling preacher and find out about education from the Colonial Schoolmaster! All descendants of the 35 Founders get a special ID.The museum is open for tours from 11-4, $8, last tour starts at 3pm. Engage in an ‘I Spy a Founder' memorabilia hunt during your house tour, see the sword of Founder John Mason on loan from the NL County Historic Society. Have a celebratory cupcake. We are following CDC guidelines, please wear a mask indoors.
