FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 26, 2021 Contact: Amy Perry Perryamy1@gmail.com 860-912-0950 Join Steve Sigel for Drinks and Stories on a Thames River Heritage Park Celebrity Happy Hour Harbor Cruise NEW LONDON, Ct. – The Thames River Heritage Park will host a Celebrity Happy Hour Harbor Cruise Friday, July 30th at 5 pm with special guest Steve Sigel, executive director of the Garde Arts Center and consummate raconteur. Known throughout the community for his sharp wit, community activism and love of all things New London, Steve will regale happy hour passengers with his creative, hilarious and gifted storytelling while passengers cruise past many historic sites and take in the shoreline views. The harbor cruise will originate at City Pier behind Union Station in the heart of New London’s Historic Waterfront District. Tickets are $25 Tickets are available at www.thamesriverheritagepark.org . Passengers are encouraged to bring their favorite beverages (alcohol is permitted). On Friday, August 6th at 5 pm joining the Park on the Celebrity Happy Hour Harbor Cruise will be conductor, composer, orchestrator, record producer, Grammy and two-time Emmy Award-winner, and Eugene O’Neill Cabaret Artistic Director John McDaniel. John was the band leader for six years on the Rosie O’Donnell Show where he worked with such artists as Tony Bennett, Dick Van Dyke, Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, Liza Minnelli, Barry Manilow, Chaka Kahn and Madonna. The water taxis are authentic Navy vessels, known as liberty launches that provided ship to shore transportation for sailors when they pulled into a port without docking facilities. The water taxis, one named Groton, the other New London are a central feature of the park’s operation.
