Congratulations to these well-deserving members of our team.” Larry Walker of Salem, CT, has been promoted to Director of Technology and First Vice President. Larry joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 1992. In 2019, Larry was critical to the successful implementation of virtualizing Desktops, Servers and WAN. He led the outsourcing of the Bank’s infrastructure and Security Operation Center, both technically and architecturally, which ultimately led to being able to support much of the Bank’s workforce in a remote work environment. Larry is actively involved with the Special Olympics Penguin Plunge each year. He received the Bank’s George W. Strouse award in 2017. He is a graduate from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management and the Sylvania Technical School, where he received an award for the highest GPA in his class. Alexis Kahn of North Stonington, CT, Cash Management Sales Manager, has been promoted to Vice President. Alexis joined the Bank in 2017 as a Business Banking Officer. Since that time, Alexis has been instrumental in supporting customers as their businesses grow and needs change, and introducing the Bank’s extensive cash management offering to potential customers. She also spearheads the Chelsea Professional Women’s Club. Alexis volunteers for the Sustainable CT initiative with the Town of North Stonington, and is a member of the Fairview CT Gala Planning Committee. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and is currently participating in the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Nancy Murphy of Mystic, CT, Data Management Specialist, has been promoted to Data Governance Manager and Vice President. Nancy joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 1998 as a Mortgage Processor and then held several positions in the Loan Servicing department. In 2009, she transferred to the Systems Department as a Programmer/Analyst and in 2012, she became a Business Intelligence Analyst in the newly created Business Intelligence department. Nancy is a 2003 graduate of the Connecticut School of Finance and Management, and was a recipient of a 2013 Chelsea Award. Nancy has been actively involved with the Groton Scholarship Fund, the Fitch Music Boosters and the Special Olympics Penguin Plunge. Kelly Meakem of Oakdale, CT, Business Banking Operations Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Kelly joined the Bank in 2008 as a teller. She became a Deposit Services Representative in 2014, Cash Management Specialist in 2015, and Business Banking Specialist in 2017. In 2018, Kelly was promoted to Business Banking Supervisor and Assistant Secretary, and in 2019 was promoted to Business Banking Operations Manager. Kelly graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2010, and from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2016. She received a Chelsea Award in 2014. Mario Siciliano of Westerly, RI, Technology Operations Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Mario joined Chelsea Groton in 2016 and since that time has been instrumental in providing Bank-wide technical support, developing the Bank’s employee intranet, and migrating and managing the virtual desktop platform. Mario has a degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, from the New England Institute of Technology along with several certifications from industry-leading companies. Richard Turner of Stonington, CT, Retail Loan Originator, NMLS ID 12498, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Rick joined the Bank in 2011 and since then, he has been helping individuals and families in Connecticut and Rhode Island with their mortgage needs. Rick is currently a board member of HOPE INC, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to developing affordable housing for low and moderate- income individuals and families in New London. He is also a member of the Eastern CT Association of Realtors and the Home Builders and Remodelers Association. He achieved the status of 5 Star Mortgage Professional from 2013 - 2020. Matthew Benoit of Westerly, RI, Project Management Specialist, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Matt joined Chelsea Groton in 2015 as the Business Process Analyst and was named a Project Management Specialist last year. He currently maintains the schedules of bank-wide projects, is involved in the testing and roll-out of various digital tools, and develops workflows to ensure proper oversight and streamlined processes. Matt has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island, an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, and recently graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management. Lisa Fields of Griswold, CT, Purchasing Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Lisa joined the Bank in 1999. She recently assumed the responsibilities of coordinating activities with the Bank’s Property Manager and Facilities staff, all while retaining her current obligations in her role as Purchasing Manager. She has completed countless courses offered through the Bank’s training department, including the Chelsea Professional Management Series, as well as external writing and Microsoft program workshops. Carleen Lee of New London, CT, Customer Solutions Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Carleen joined Chelsea Groton in 1988 and was promoted to Branch Manager of the New London branch in 2017. Carleen graduated from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program and the Connecticut School of Finance and Management. Carleen is a board member for the Covenant Shelter in New London, runs a boot drive for children during the holiday season, and actively volunteers in the community where she lives and works. Sara Lundy of Oakdale, CT, has been promoted to Compliance Manager and Assistant Treasurer. Sara joined Chelsea Groton in 2016 as a Risk and Compliance Specialist, and in 2020 was promoted to Assistant Secretary. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Thiel College and a MBA from New England College of Business and Finance. Sara graduated from the ABA Foundational, Intermediate, and Advanced Compliance schools and CT School of Finance and Management. In 2020, she completed her Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification. She is a board member of the Bank Compliance Association of Connecticut and a member of the Town of Montville’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Rebecca Magner of Pawcatuck, CT, Customer Solutions Manager at the Bank’s Pawcatuck branch, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. In addition to her management responsibilities at the branch, Rebecca was a key player on the Paycheck Protection Program team at Chelsea, originating, closing and funding dozens of PPP loans. She serves as Vice President of the board of the Johnnycake Center in Westerly and was co-chair of the Chelsea Activities Team. Rebecca received the George W. Strouse Spirit award in 2020 and expects to graduate from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management program in 2021. Sonya Manley of Mystic, CT, has been promoted to Senior Learning and Development Specialist and Assistant Treasurer. Sonya joined the Bank in 2005. In the last year, she supported the training of new hires during the pandemic, created an online training calendar which offered over 750 hours of virtual training for Bank employees, and redesigned several of the Bank’s existing training curriculum to the ADDIE model of instructional design. Sonya received the George W. Strouse Spirit award in 2014 and graduated from Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2016. Kristen Scott of East Lyme, CT, Customer Solutions Manager at the Bank’s Center Groton branch, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Kristen joined the Bank in 2005. In 2017, Kristen led her team through the Center Groton branch "reinvention". She has been actively involved in the PPP task force, and is a Chelsea Educator, trained to teach financial education curriculum to community members. Kristen graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2015 and was the recipient of the Chelsea Award in 2017. Kristen volunteers for several bank and community events each year. Jennifer Seuferling of North Stonington, CT, Customer Solutions Manager at the Bank’s North Stonington branch, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. During the pandemic, Jen assisted with weekend residential mortgage inquiries and assisted with processing PPP loans. Jen graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2017 and has earned several certificates from the Center of Financial Training. She was a recipient of the George W. Strouse Spirit Award in 2013. Jen is a board member for Horses Healing Humans and volunteers for many community events. Renee Simao of Stonington, CT, Customer Solutions Manager at the Bank’s Norwichtown branch, joined the Bank in 2019 and has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Renee has successfully deepened relationships with existing customers, brought new business relationships to the bank, and is passionate about developing her team. Renee is a board member of the Stonington Youth Lacrosse League, and member of the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce. Aline Soulor of Lebanon, CT, Customer Solutions Manager at the Bank’s Salem branch, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. One of the longest tenured team members at Chelsea Groton, Aline joined the Bank in 1982. Aline proactively supported several internal departments during the pandemic, including residential lending, collections and loan servicing. Aline earned her CFT General Banking Certificate in 1991 and graduated from the Chelsea Professional Management Series in 2015. She is a board member of the Lebanon Recreation Commission and volunteers for the United Way Mobile Food Pantry and several bank and community events throughout the year. Marielle Winkelman of Ledyard, CT, Customer Solutions Manager at the Bank’s Waterford branch, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Marielle joined the Bank in 2014. She was an instrumental part of the PPP loan team, in addition to her branch management responsibilities. Marielle is the Treasurer for the Women's Network of Southeastern Connecticut and volunteers for various events throughout the year. She is a 2019 recipient of the Bank’s Chelsea Award. Marielle graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2019, and earned her Bachelor of Science from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020. Alysha Yepes of Ledyard, CT, Customer Solutions Manager at the Bank’s Westside branch, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Alysha joined the Bank in 2016. She has invested quality time to understanding the needs of individuals, families and businesses in the Norwich market and as a result, has successfully cultivated new consumer, community and business relationships. Alysha graduated from the Chelsea Professional Management Series in 2016 and the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce's (GNACC) Leadership Program in 2017. She is actively involved in the GNACC as a Board Member, an Ambassador and Committee Chair on the Education Committee and a member of the BizEd Committee.
