Press Release For Immediate Release Contact: Pamela Allen Kinder, MS, MA Vice President Business Development pkinder@ucfs.org DATE: January 20, 2021 UCFS Healthcare receives HRSA Grant for Hypertension UCFS Healthcare was awarded $157,500 from the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) to support our hypertension control initiative. The grant supports increased provider and staff engagement in implementing electronic based practices including advanced self-measured blood pressure technology to increase controlled hypertension. The goal of this grant is to work to reduce symptoms in our patients diagnosed with hypertension. Specifically, the goal is to increase the number of patients with hypertension who have controlled blood pressure. UCFS Healthcare will purchase remote patient monitoring blood pressure devices, and utilize nurse educators to spearhead identifying and tracking hypertensive patients utilizing the devices. UCFS Healthcare is a community health organization that provides affordable, high quality medical, dental, behavioral health, and eldercare services to over 20,000 patients each year. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, care is provided regardless of insurance coverage or a person’s ability to pay.
