WHO: This year’s game will match the University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (ranked #19 by the NCAA) against the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners. WHERE: The game will be played at SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium, located on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in University Park, Texas. WHEN: Kickoff for the contest is set for Saturday, Dec. 26 at 2:30 p.m. (CT) on ABC. Due to COVID social distancing restrictions, limited seating is available in two- or four-person “pods”. First responders and fans are encouraged to visit www.firstresponderbowl.com for ticket information. WHY: “SERVPRO professionals deal with the aftermath of the unexpected every day,” said Rick Isaacson, CEO of Servpro Industries, LLC, “but first responders deal with the unexpected when it’s happening. They are first on the scene, putting themselves in harm’s way to protect people and property. The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl is our opportunity each year to say ‘thank you’ on a national stage to these brave men and women – and their families – who set an example of courage and sacrifice for all of us.” INFO: Each year, SERVPRO asks their franchisees nationwide to submit the name of a first responder in their local community to be considered for special recognition at the game. SERVPRO selects one first responder from this group of nominees to be honored with an award. In previous years, the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl, through the generosity of corporate partners, has been able to provide thousands of free tickets for first responders to attend the bowl game with their families. “It seems especially meaningful this year to recognize the service and sacrifice of the men and women who continue to put the welfare of others ahead of their personal safety,” said John O'Sullivan, a disaster remediation specialist with SERVPRO® of Norwich and Windham County. “These people are our hometown heroes, and we’re proud to play a part in dedicating this event to them.” CONTACT: Due to COVID social distancing restrictions, seating is limited to two- or four-person “pods”.
