November 17, 2020 For Immediate Release Norwich Events Organization to Hold "Let’s Shine Holiday Decorating Contest" Norwich, CT - The "Lets Shine Holiday Decorating Contest" will kick off on Friday, November 27 and run until midnight on Tuesday, December 15. Norwich residents and businesses can visit Norwich Events Organization’s website or Facebook Page to register their home or business. “Let's shine as a community. Deck your lawns, doors, windows or whatever you have and help us spread some light this holiday season,” says Rebecca Alberts Chair of Norwich Events Organization. “It is difficult to be apart at this time and not participate in all the holiday events we love. We hope that community decorations will raise community spirits and bring joy to the residents.” Trophies will be awarded in these categories: Best Non-Traditional: This can be whatever you want that isn't traditionally Christmas; Clark Griswold Award: Do your best impression of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation; People's Choice: The people have spoken (and voted). This will be awarded after Christmas to give maximum time for voting); Best of Norwich: Knock our socks off and be the best decorated house in the City; Best Business: businesses, organizations, churches, clubs and school groups may enter this category. Winners will get a trophy and gift basket. In addition to the trophies, we will also be doing a drawing for gift cards from City Businesses. Every house that enters will be put into the drawing regardless of whether they win a trophy or not. Norwich Events Organization will be purchasing gift cards from: Billy Wilsons Aging Still, Canggios, La Stellas, Norwich Discount Oil, These Guys Brewing, Shop Rite and Viking Fuel.
