For Immediate Release Media Contact: Elijah Gonzalez August 4, 2019 860-887-7962 x 109 Offense Fuels Largest Win of the Season at Batavia Tigers put up six run third inning to power the victory Batavia, NY - Moises Nunez went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, and the Connecticut Tigers (22-26) took down the Batavia Muckdogs (29-20) by a final score of 9-2. Nunez also scored two runs in the contest. Batavia took the lead in the first inning on a throwing error by the Tigers. JD Orr came in to score the first run of the game to make it 1-0. The Tigers offense exploded in the third inning. Ryan Kreidler drove in the first run of the inning on a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 1-1. Riley Greene singled home a run to give the Tigers their first lead at 2-1. Following a hit-by-pitch of Jake Holton, Avery Tuck delivered a grand slam over the right-field wall off of Jackson Rose (Loss, 5-3) to make it 6-1. This was Tuck’s first home run in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers added to their leads in the sixth when Nunez hit a sacrifice fly to score Andrew Navigato and make it 7-1. Navigato finished with his first three-hit game of his career going 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Batavia put up their final run of the contest in the bottom half of the inning. Harrison Dinicola singled home a run on a base hit up the middle off of Carson Lance (Win, 2-3). Lance pitched a season-high six innings with one earned run on six hits with two walks and six strikeouts. The Tigers stretched the lead in the eighth on a two-run blast by Nunez over the left-field wall. This was his first home run in 2019, and second career home run in Connecticut.
