The Tigers will carry 18 pitchers, three catchers, six infielders and five outfielders to begin the season. There are six different countries represented on this year's roster including Australia, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela and United States. The Tigers will have two players drafted prior to 10th round in the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft on the roster. Jeremiah Burks and Eric De La Rosa will be returning for their second season in Connecticut. The Connecticut Tigers pitching staff returns some familiar faces as well. 19-year-old Adelaide, Australia native Jack O'Loughlin is back along with Carson Lance who will be the Tigers opening night starter for the second-straight season. Along with the returners, the Tigers have brought in some new younger players this season. Eliezer Alfonzo, son of former MLB player Eliezer Alfonzo will make his debut with Connecticut this season. The 19-year-old catching prospect hit a combined .324 last season in the Dominican Summer League and Gulf Coast League. The Tigers open up the 2019 season on the road against the Lowell Spinners tomorrow at LeLacheur Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut. 2019 individual game tickets, season memberships for "The Club", mini plans, and team merchandise are on sale now! The 2019 season kicks off on Sunday, June 16th as the Tigers take on the Vermont Lake Monsters (Oakland Athletics Affiliate) at Dodd Stadium at 7:05 pm.
