Illiano's Grill

This is still one of the top ten restaurants in the Norwich area - always consistently good service, Excellent food with many GF options. Nice selection of beer and wine. Not pretentious.
Great music, clean and well appointed restrooms.
I like the outside dining when weather is good.
Reasonable prices too.
Can't recommend it enough!

Laid back atmosphere, it was nice to see vegan options on the menu. Staff were friendly and helpful. The owner is super nice!

Not bad for ordering in for delivery. Food was tasty. Chick was not dry which was highly a great change from many other places I have ordered from.

Great food! The eggplant rolatini is delicious! Great food to use for a large event as well! Ordering is easy and pick up time was accurate and food was hot!

I am not one to complain at all! But this just happened! My whole family and I have been going to Illiano's Grill in Norwich, CT for many years, I ordered this pasta dish Penne Alla Carbonara and I added chicken which sounded delicious but instantly made me nauseous. I am not sure why but I explained that I am battling cancer so my body is apparently sensitive to odd tastes. I explained this to our waitress Jennifer that it didn't sit well and immediately nauseous! Even though I only took a small taste both she and the owner said they will Not exchange it for something else and will not take it off the bill, they charged for this dish that made me nauseated and I had to leave hungry and feeling ill and got charged for that nasty pasta dish! It's not like I can't afford to pay for my food, It's the fact they they didn't care about making it right, I have been fighting cancer since last June and this is the only dish that made me instantly nauseated Illiano's Grill.

Been a fan of Illiano's Grill for many years now and finally writing this review after another wonderful meal last night! Vincenzo, the owner, is an exceptional chef and restaurateur- and always works hard to ensure everyone is happy. The food is so fresh and delicious, using high quality ingredients. Hands down the best pizza and Italian food around!

Such an amazing restaurant and family. You can truly tell they put their heart and soul into their family owned business. The whole experience was one my family and I will never forget! The food was absolutely phenomenal and we have not stopped talking about it days later. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are unbeatable. We seriously did not have one single bad thing to say about our whole experience.

The owner came out to speak with us twice to make sure everything was going okay. A true Italian native who cares deeply about his customers!

Illiano's Grill is the definition of a true hole in the wall hidden gem. You will not be disappointed here!!

The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the service was great and the waitresses are very friendly. The food is another story! We had garlic bread, the Italian Festival and eggplant parmigiana. I knew we were in trouble when the garlic bread was flavorless and the side of marinara tasted like a can of crushed tomatoes with no seasoning whatsoever. Each entree came with a cup of soup or salad. My husband ordered clam chowder which looked and tasted like white water. When even asked me "how can clams be flavorless?" My cup of lentil soup was watery and flavorless as well. The real surprise came from the eggplant which was a layer of mush. No breading that I could see and no crunch. I sent it back because it tasted disgusting and they were kind enough to take it off the bill but still charged me $5 for the cup of lentil soup that I barely touched. The restaurant itself is very run down, my booth had a huge tear in the seat and the bathroom was filthy. Needless to say, we won't be back.

My eggplant parm take-out was barely edible to begin with, then I found a string mixed in with the pasta. No one else liked their meal either. The pizza crust and the calzone were limp and tasteless. Never again

My favorite place around! The food is amazing and the staff is so nice. Me and my grandfather used to come in here all the time!
