FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 16, 2017 Media Contact: Rich Haskell rich@cttigers.com TIGERS POUND OUT 12 HITS, HANG ON TO TAKE SERIES IN ABERDEEN Castellanos goes season-high 6 1/3, Rosa leads hit parade in 5-4 win ABERDEEN, MD- Dylan Rosa had three hits, including a run-scoring double in the fifth inning to put the visitors ahead for good, as the Connecticut Tigers took the rubber match over the Aberdeen Ironbirds at Ripken Stadium Sunday night, 5-4. Will Savage, Reynaldo Rivera, and Junnell Ledezma added two hits apiece in support of Tiger starter Ryan Castellanos (2-2), who went a season-high 6 1/3 innings before being removed following a three-run homer by Aberdeens rightfielder Tristan Graham that made it 5-4 in the seventh. Connecticut relievers Clate Schmidt, Max Green and Wladamir Pinto protected the slim lead, with Pinto picking up his third save in three chances. The Tigers (12-11) now head to Troy, New York to open a three-game set with the Tri-City ValleyCats at Bruno Stadium beginning Monday night at 7:05. Matt Manning (1-1) gets the start for Connecticut, who remains 3 1/2 games behind Vermont for first place in the Stedler Division.
