FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 8, 2017 Media Contact: Rich Haskell rich@cttigers.com FIVE-RUN SIXTH SENDS TIGERS TO FIFTH STRAIGHT LOSS, 5-2 Defeat in Lowell drops Connecticut to .500 for first time LOWELL, MA- For the second straight night, a big inning from Lowell proved to be the Tigers undoing, as the Spinners sent Connecticut to it's fifth straight defeat, 5-2, in front of a sellout crowd at LeLacheur Park Saturday night. The Tigers (9-9), took a 2-0 lead in the fifth on a Dylan Burdeaux double (his third of four hits on the night), but two singles, two doubles and a triple in the bottom of the frame off Tigers reliever Colyn O'Connell (0-1) put Lowell up for good. Starter Jose Vasquez had his fourth consecutive strong outing for Connecticut, tossing 4 2/3 scoreless innings before having to leave the game after a 35-minute rain delay in the bottom of the fifth. The Tigers were also done in by a lack of clutch hitting...stranding a season-high 15 runners on base. Connecticut looks to get back above .500 on Sunday afternoon at 5:35 against the Spinners. The pre-game show starts coverage at 5:20 on 1310 WICH, and online at www.cttigers.com
