For Immediate Release 4th of July Fireworks Back in Norwich for 2017 Norwich, CT – In honor of Independence Day, the City of Norwich and the Norwich Events Organization (formally the Norwich Saint Patrick’s Parade Committee) are hosting the annual Fourth of July Fireworks on the Waterfront on Friday, June 30th with a rain date on July 2nd. Spectacular fireworks will be displayed at the Norwich Harbor area starting at approximately 9:00 p.m. Public viewing of the free fireworks display can best be seen from Howard Brown Park and anyplace along the waterfront. Food trucks will be in the park from 3PM until after the fireworks begin. We invite you to arrive early, enjoy the atmosphere, grab dinner from food trucks and enjoy the company of your friends and neighbors. The Norwich Events Organization took over the planning of the fireworks this year. In order to raise funds for not only the Fireworks, but other Downtown events such as the Norwich Saint Patrick’s Parade and the Spring Egg Hunt the Norwich Events Organization is hosting a golf tournament and the Ron Aliano Service awards on June 12th. The golf tournament will be hosted at the Norwich Golf Course with an 11AM registration and a Noon shotgun start. Sponsorships range from $200 to $10,000 and a foursome can register to play for $600. For information about sponsorship or registering a team, please visit NorwichHarborFireworks.com. The Ron Aliano Service Awards honor individuals and businesses that consistently support the City of Norwich. This year we are honoring Ken Capano Senior and The Byrnes Agency. The Ron Aliano Service Awards are directly following the golf tournament at the Norwich Marina under the tent. Tickets can be purchased for $25 and include dinner. Stephen R. Avdevich from Sounds in Motion is donating his time to bring music to the event and dinner will be provided by Americas on the Wharf the Marina’s restaurant with a cash bar. Tickets can be purchased online at NorwichHarborFireworks.com or at Billy Wilsons Ageing Still, Harp and Dragon, These Guys Brewing or Foundry 66. The Committee also understands that not everyone can donate $200. If individuals are interested in supporting Downtown Norwich events, they can donate as little as $5 to the cause by visiting http://squ.re/2qhaGLT. These donations will be applied to the Norwich Harbor Fireworks, the Norwich Saint Patrick’s Parade and Festival and other Downtown Norwich events. It is our intention to allow businesses and individuals to sponsor as many events as possible with one donation rather than being consistently tapped to sponsor individual events. Anyone making a sponsorship at this time will be listed as a sponsor for the 2017 Norwich Harbor Fireworks and the 2018 Norwich Saint Patrick’s Parade and Festival.
