Three Rivers earned its elevated place with both its current and historically high National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) "pass rates.” Three Rivers graduates’ scores are consistently above the national average, with a three-year average of over 93%, and graduates report a 100% job placement on the last three graduate surveys. “This is a remarkable achievement for our students and our program, and a reflection of the dedication of our faculty and staff to make our nursing program exceptional,” said Mary Ellen Jukoski, Ed.D., President of Three Rivers Community College. Through the Three Rivers Nursing Program, students earn a Nursing, A.S. The highly competitive program prepares students to become registered nurses through a four-semester program of study. Critical thinking, safe and competent practice, caring, professionalism, communication, and holistic care are the core values that provide the curricular framework. Students develop the knowledge, skills and behaviors to practice safely, effectively and with competence as an entry-level registered nurse, as well as to continue studies for a B.S.N. Edith Ouellet, Three Rivers Director of Nursing and Allied Health, said, “We take pride in upholding the high standards of nursing education and practice. Faculty and staff at Three Rivers Community College work tirelessly preparing Southeastern Connecticut with competent, caring, and compassionate nurses. Earning the fifth position among pre-license RN education programs in Connecticut is an honor.” Rankings were created to help students select the best nursing school, one that will support students towards licensure and beyond. RegisteredNursing.org determines rankings by analyzing the NCLEX-RN "pass rates." The exam is used by all state boards of nursing across the United States to help assess a student's competency and is required for licensure.
