For Immediate Release May 21, 2018 Informational Session Regarding Village Districts The Planning & Neighborhood Services Department will host an informal informational session regarding village district overlay zones, and specifically the proposed Norwichtown Village District, on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at 6:00pm in the Community Room at Otis Library. Establishing Village Districts is an implementation element in the 2013 City of Norwich Plan of Conservation and Development. The Plan identifies community “nodes” where village districts should be established, including Norwichtown. Village districts encourage the conversion, conservation and preservation of existing buildings and sites in a manner that maintains the distinctive character of the specific district. The informational session will be an opportunity for residents and businesses owners to learn about the village district concept and to ask questions regarding the proposed regulations, map and design guidelines. Any questions can be directed to Deanna Rhodes, City Planner at 860-823-3767.
