This rustic coffee house is exactly what downtown Norwich needed. Everything is roasted and brewed in house. The coffee was phenomenal, the atmosphere was very inviting, the staff was very friendly and made us feel like we were part of the coffee family. The owner was present and made sure we were enjoying our experience and our coffee. We got the cold brew coffee with the addition of in house created sweet cream ice cream in lieu of cream and sugar. Best decision I've made with coffee! Parking is always different in downtown. There are spaces on the road and adjacent roads as well as a parking garage just around the corner. But walking through downtown is always great, so we parked around the corner by the town hall. Don't miss Cliff's coffee!

Norwich has needed a real, quality coffee place like this for a long time! I was impressed with how well done everything in the place was. All the details down to the smallest things seemed very thought out and artfully executed. The mocha I had was amazing because they roast both the coffee beans AND the cacao in house! I mean, who does that?! Amazing!
I also bought some espresso beans to grind and brew at home. They were perfectly done, not over-roasted like some major brands who shall not be named ;) They know their coffee at this place.
The owner and staff were super friendly and personable. This place gets a full recommendation from me. Well done, Matt!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan L.Brooklyn, NY04Dec 24, 2018
I was visiting to Norwich, where I grew up. I now live in Brooklyn, NY so must admit that I am spoiled by the cafes there. My husband and I took a drive to Downtown Norwich. Downtown Norwich has some beautiful architecture but unfortunately many of the buildings are rundown. We stumbled across Craftsman Clifton in a historic brick building near City Hall. We were greeted by two friendly guys behind the counter. I was impressed with the space and design. I loved the attention to detail in use of logo throughout the space.
My husband ordered a long espresso and I a regular coffee. Both were excellent! The owner (I think) made sure that the coffee was to our liking. I really hope that people will support this small business. Being business owners ourselves, we know the grit that it takes to make a business successful. I wish them the best!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
